Mark Roche
FOUNDER / CEO
Mark is the Founder & CEO of Coastal Quarry Products and Namoi Quarry Products in Gunnedah, having left Sydney’s Northern Beaches and his Bobcat business over 20 years ago to find more space, bigger earthworks machines and ultimately the quarry he presides over today. With a keen interest in geology and machinery, Mark has seen the business grow to something that can be seen from Google Earth.

History
Coastal Quarry Products is conveniently located ten kilometers outside the township of Wauchope on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales. Some 220 kms from Newcastle and 360 kms from Sydney. This unique volcanic deposit of rhyolite has a quarrying history dating back to 1897, when gravel was dug by pick and shovel and loaded onto horse and cart for use on local roads. It remained a minor operation until 1996 when acquired by Coastal Quarry Products, who saw enormous potential to develop it from a one-product quarry to a range of fourteen different products for landscaping and civil construction uses it provides today. Coastal Quarry Products supply customers all over New South Wales and Queensland.
Our customers include some of Sydney’s largest landscape suppliers like Australian Native Landscapes and Turtle Landscapes. We have also supplied our products to popular television home shows like Backyard Blitz, Burke’s Backyard and Groundforce.
Some of the landmark projects to use our products range include St Mary’s Cathedral, Centennial Park and Barangaroo. Councils, Golf Clubs and landscape contractors also use our product range in applications such as garden pebble areas, pathways, driveways and rock retaining walls.
But of greater note, we have been a major supplier of materials for the Pacific Highway upgrade which is one of the largest road infrastructure projects in NSW. It connects Sydney and Brisbane and is a major contributor to Australia’s economic activity. A project we stand proud to be a supply partner to.
